REBECCA MORTON
About Me
Singer, Actor, Breathwork Practitioner, Writer, Dramaturg.
BA (Performing Arts), MFA (Dramaturgy), DipAB
Member: Australian Breathwork Association, International Breathwork Foundation, MEAA
I’ve been a singer and actor since childhood. With a BA in Theatre, Language and Literature, and a Master of Arts in Dramaturgy, I’ve spent my life exploring the intersection of creativity, healing, and human expression. Alongside my artistic work, I’ve studied and practised a wide range of Western and alternative health and spiritual disciplines — both formally and intuitively — for most of my life. This lifelong path toward healing (or, more accurately, the self-realisation that we are already whole) continues to be deeply rewarding, mysterious, and necessary. I trained in Rebirthing Breathwork in the 1990s, soon after completing my Performing Arts degree. My performing career included touring in large-scale musicals, Shakespeare and other plays, followed by a shift into hospitality — the “actor-as-waiter” phase taken to its extreme when I owned a restaurant for a few years. I raised two sons, toured self-devised shows, taught French and singing in schools and privately, and later worked in property renovation and management. Read more »
In 2016, I reconnected with healer, shaman, and medicine woman Diane Jeffries, and with Alignment Breathwork. I trained intensively with Diane for over three years, and continue to deepen and update my skills and qualifications regularly, with such teachers as Hannah Kendaru of Inspire Breathwork, and Helena Walsh.
In 2024, I completed my MA in Dramaturgy at the Victorian College of the Arts. I now bring together decades of experience in the arts, education, healing, and life to offer a holistic, embodied, and compassionate practice. I’m honoured to share the powerful, transformational tool of breathwork with others — and grateful to witness how all the threads of my life are weaving together.

Pop-Up Workshops

The UK’s Breathwork Festival - Festival Of Life
Breathe and Sing with Alignment Breathing
Join Rebecca Morton on this unique and powerful session using the breath and your voice. As a professional singer and actor, Rebecca creates an inclusive space for beginners and the experienced.
About the workshop:
Breathe and Sing is a singing meditation, where we start with breath and sound and move into chanting, ending with a deep meditation.
And I will also offer a workshop teaching simple songs which increase in complexity and harmony according to experience and number of participants.
